    Default Headunit for MR2

    Hi

I need to get a new deck for the MR2. Current one doesnt play burnt CD's or it's just screwed. I dno. Just brought the car.

I want a deck, which will give me the best EQing features possible. I've asked about getting a Rockford 2sixty or watever they are called on here before but I can't find the thread for it. I got suggested a deck from Alpine (I prefer Alpine) but I used the search function but still no luck. mighta got deleted.

I'm not sure how the digital radio thing works, are there decks with this installed or is it a seperate item which you connect with it? I don't have an ipod so thats not a big concern to me. All good decks have 3 preouts.

I searched the Alpine website, the CDA-105Ei is most expensive on the Single Dins.

The deck that got suggested had seperate crossover functions.

It could of been the Alpine CDA-9887?

Edit: It was the 9887. Is this still the deck you's would recommend? what about another brand?
    Deck: Alpine 9887
    Speakers: Hertz HSK165 XL
    Amps: Audison SRx2, SRx4 & Alpine M350
    Subs: 2x Alpine 10" Type S

The 9887 is a fine unit, and get's a vote from me.
I remember the thread, there was also the mention of Eclipse units, which are known for their SQ when dealing with their top models.

I've always had a soft spot for Blaupunkt units, but they can be hard to source these days..But basically as you probably already know, you get what you pay for.Whether there is an audible difference between several models within a similiar price range, would be too hard to say, and could only really be determined by blind testing them with the same setup, song ect..

But if you like the 9887 ,and it's within your price range, then i wouldn't be too worried about comparing it to too many other models. As long as you have a decent head unit in place, then the most audible differences are going to come from your speaker and amp selection..
