Good Afternoon all,
In the past couple of weeks i have been playing around with my sound system.
Last week i bought a new Alpine head unit and 2 Kicker Comp subs.
On my old head unit i was able to put it on X-Over (thats what is said on the cd player) which made the subs only put out bass.
After hooking up all the new gear i was very very happy with the outcome. But the only thing is now the subs are playing the whole song instead of just bass.
The head unit is a - Alpine CDE-101E
If anyone could give me any tips on how to get just bass to come out of these bad boys that would be tops.
Big thanks in advance!!!
Terry
The amplifier should have a low pass filter option, or something along those lines. This is a frequency level that the amp will ignore anything above. Play with the setting and find one you're happy with.
You dont mention an amplifier? Please dont tell me youre powering the subs off the head-unit?
For now i'll assume youve got an amplifier running the subs, just as Fonzie has suggested above there should be either a switch or dial on the amp (near the gain knob) that says "LPF" which means low pass filter. If its just a switch the turn it on, if its a dial then set it to around 80hz.
