Default 2x 100watt speakers to head unit

I have 2 pioneer speakers that my dad wasn't using, so I'm going to put them in, the head unit says 50watt x 4 my speakers are 100watt max, will I need to have an amp? or will I be able to just put them in place of the stock speakers? Also what are the stock speakers in a vs? is there any point in changing them with what I have?

Dont place too much emphasis on watt ratings for speakers. Most of the time they are not accurate, so in answer to your question, no you wont need an amp and yes you will be able to replace the stock speaker with these (provided they are 6").
Whether or not they'll make any difference is negligible, they may sound better than the stock or they may sound very similar. Theres only one way to find out.

Also the stockies in at least VT/VX/VY/VZ are 15 watt, so yes there will be some difference if your calais was brought out with 15 watters.

Paper cone speakers are actually among some of the best you can get, so don't too wound up about your speakers being paper.
