Hi, im currently trying to set up a HU in a friends 96 Holden Apollo (rebadged camry essentially) but am having a great deal of trouble matching up the wires. Theres currently no harnesses for the HU as its a fusion one. Has anyone done one of these or knows of a good site to get help for the wiring colours. Ive tryed looking up one for doing it in a camry but unfortunetly the wires are a different colour. Any help would be greatly appreciated as its causing me a bit of a hassle, Cheers!
If the wiring is the same as the Toyotas then you should have two plugs in the standard loom.
One plug will have these wires:
Yellow, Red, Black, White.
The yellow and black are one rear speaker, while the red and white are the other rear speaker.
Now the other plug has 4 wires, two blue and two green. These are your front speaker wires. On the other side of this plug is two small wires, one i think is brown and the other dark blue with a stripe (cant remember which colour stripe). These are your constant and accessories wires.
Anyway, you really should have a test light and / or a mulitmeter for installing head-units. Even with the harness adapters wires can still get mixed up, so it pays to have some test tools.
