I have built my own parcel shelf but now my rear brake light vibrates onto the rear windscreen. As you could imagine it is very anoying. If anyone has any ideas how i could fix the rattle sound could you please let me know. My mate told me to get rid of the brake light all together but I am not sure if that is legal or not. I not want any more reasons for the police to pick on me.

I saw your post about making your shelf...did you make it from MDF as thick as the original??? If its thinner , maybe a bit of rubber underneath , or a washer or 2 might fix it......and they like you to leave the rear light in the vehicle, not the shed........thats about alll I can offer mate.....
Put a thin peice of rubber on the bottom of it, if ti rattling against the window itself, glue four little rubber squares onto the corner and let it rest against the window like that...job done. Leave the light on. Although it's not illegal to remove it..better to have it anyway.
Although a mate of mine recently got picked up because his rear winf...which had a LED breaklights in it was obstructing the view of window brakelight...go figure huh? lol
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!
The light is rattling against the windscreen so i will try the rubber in the corners idea that should do it. I just have to find something thin enough to stick to it.

a little double sided padded tape works.
clarification - it IS illegal to remove this light. anything after 89 (or 90) must have an operational 3rd brake light. even if you were to have a spoiler with a light on it you still haev to have the 3rd light.
