    Default MR2 SoundSystem

This will be my future soundsystem for the MR2.

    Headunit: Alpine 9887
Front Speakers: SoundStream TRC6N (200rms) (If they fit)
Amp 4 Speakers: SoundStream Lil Wonder LW4.500
    Subs: 2x Rockford P3SD412 (4ohm) or P3SD212 (2ohm) (400rms)
Amp 4 Subs: Unknown yet (Need advice)
Processor: Rockford 3Sixty.1 (or possibly .2) (worth getting?)
    HD Radio: Alpine TUA T550HD
Wire: 2x Rockford RFK4I (4ga), 2x Rockford Premium Twisted RCA's, Rockford Premium Twisted Y Adapter, Rockford 12awg Speaker Cable. (don't want to hear the cable makes no difference I don't care)
Sound Deadening: Dynamat in Doors & Underneath Rear Windscreen (try to lessen the mid engine sound)

What you guys think? It's a MR2 so space for subs are limited. I'm hoping to get away with a single wiring kit - 17ft of power cable because the battery is pretty close to the amps. We'll see.

Edit: This will be done in stages.
    1st - Splits, Dynamat, SoundStream LW4.500 & Speaker Cable
2rd - Alpine 9887, Alpine TUA T550HD & New Wiring Kits (already got after market deck - it's just old & doesn't play burnt CD's)
    3th - New Sub Amp/s and Subs & 3Sixty

Is there anyone you's would change or recommend different (apart from the cable)? Better headunit? different subs (has to be shallow mount)? Not bother with processor? etc etc.

Allrighty, personally i would look for a bit more power out of your front amp.The one you have mentioned is sufficient for the job, but if you could stretch it a bit more, i would. I'd be wanting a bit more head room for those TRC6N's.

I wouldn't worry bout the 3sixty.The 9887 is a great unit on it's own.So you could save yourself some money there.

I assume because of the engine placement, that your subs are going behind the rear seats? It's a bit hard to reccomend an amp until you've made your final decision's on the subs.

Will you be porting them, or keeping them sealed?
Maybe check out the Boston G1's, they have amounting depth of around 5'', and are designed to be used in a small sealed enclosure, 0.9 cu ft i beleive, which would be handy in your situation, and IMO would sound pretty good.

    Thx for the info mate.
So you recon don't worry about the 3Sixty? it won't be worth the money?
I'm quite set on the Rockford subs. The Boston are only 200rms. I've currently got 2x 10" Alpine Type S. I'll have them in a sealed enclosure I think. Don't really have the space for ported.
You think 250 per side isn't enough headroom for the TRC6n's? I'm going to brdge the amplifier. The TRC's are rated for 200rms. The next Lil Wonder up is LW4.620 which has 310 per side.

310 per side sounds better to me. Remember just because an amp has let's say 10 watts, that dosen't mean it has 10 watts from the moment you switch it on.Much like the peak power output on a car engine.200KW @ 6500 rpm, isn't 200kw all the time. That's the amps max continous output, and with that would come distortion aswell. An amp working at lower levels, will produce lower distortion, as a result of being more efficient.

Not up to date on the current RRP on the 4.620, but considering your front stage is aimed at pure output rather than SQ ( not saying the TRC6n's sound bad, quite the oppisite actually) maybe have a look at the OAC160, from Option Audio. 350 x 2 for the money is pretty good value, and i think would suit your overall goal/aim very well.(Not saying buy it, just another option (no pun intended) )

I personally wouldn't worry about the 3sixty seeing as you've already selected a nice head unit, i'd rather spend the money on something else. Adding the budget of the 3sixty into your front speaker budget, would make things a whole lot more interesting than doing it the other way around.

I wouldn't write the Boston's off purely on their rated input capabilities, but anyway's they are only a suggestion.

Hi Joe, my plans have changed. Got my car back yesterday from mechanics, blown head. Seems like Stereo is out of the question for quite some time

It might be a sign not to upgrade the stereo how inconvenient! Was looking forward to it 2.

Tired of having only 1 speaker in my car lol. I've got Alpine DD Linears in the doors but only the drivers side works and my current deck doesnt play burnt cd's either!
