    Default Sub box????

    Gday guys,
    Not to sure on what box to pick for a sub.
    Probably looking to buy something of RYDA.
    The sub says it best suits an enclosure that is:
    Recommended Sealed Enclosure

    * Volume: 1.25 cu.ft
    * Width: 14-3/4”
    * Height: 14-9/16”
    * Depth: 14”
    * Mounting Hole: 11-1/8”
    * Displacement: 0.157 cu.ft

    Recommended Vented Enclosure

    * Volume: 1.5cu.ft
    * Width: 19-15/16”
    * Height: 14-3/16”
    * Depth: 12-5/8”
    * Mounting Hole: 11-1/8”
    * Slot Width: 1-3/8”
    * Slot Height: 12-11/16”
    * Slot Length: 18-7/8”
    * Displacement: 0.157 cu.ft

    ANY IDEAS?
    thanks heaps

    What sub is it?

    Assuming that it's nothing flash, and that you just want a cheap pre-fabricated enclosure for it, and still wanting to buy from Ryda, then the following would be suitable.

    Assumed it's a 12'' based on the mounting diamater cut out you listed.

    Ryda Car Audio -Aerpro SB12100 12" Sealed Sub Box
    Sealed, 1cu ft, slightly less that ideal, but from thier range it's either 0.7, or 1.0 cu ft to choose from.

    Ryda Car Audio -Aerpro UB12S 12" Ported Sub Box
    Ported, 1.22 cu ft. Again a bit less than ideal, but they haven't got much of an offering.

    It comes down to wether you want ported or sealed.Given your tight budget and most likely basic sub/amp combination that you currently have, if you can stretch it to the ported, then that would be my reccomendation. The ported enlcosure all though not properly port tuned to match the individual sub, would still be slightly louded, and more effecient, than the sealed enclosure.

    thanks heaps for that mate,
    this is the sub:

    Ryda Car Audio - Kenwood KFC-W3012 12" Subwoofer - DVC($128.85)

    This is the amp:

    Ryda Car Audio - Clarion Car Audio APX1301 Car Amplifier($158.85)

    The box doesn't necessarily have to be from RYDA, thats just were all the gear was from.
    would you still recommend that ported box?
