hey i got a vt commodore with dual howler subs.
at the moment i got the amp mounted on the back of the box.
its taking up a bit of space and looks pretty ugly.
ive seen an xr8 with clear boot and the amps mounted underneigh how exact would that happen because i wouldnt mind doing it also because i have a 120 cm led in my room that would look sick lighting up for the clear boot i think.
any ideas would be much appreciated thanks
Its not easy. Firstly you need to create a "false floor" by essentially making up a sheet of MDF that covers the boot floor. Then you need to make a small box without a top to mount the amp/s in. Secure this box to the boot floor (being careful not to screw into the fuel tank), then mount / wire up the amp/s.
Next step is to get that false floor and place it over the top of the amp box, mark out the window for the perspex where the amps are and cut this out. Cover the false floor with your chosen material and screw the perspex to the floor from the underside. Paint the amp box whatever colour (remove amp/s ofcourse) and add your lighting into the box. Its ideal to mount the light out of direct sight, so that you see the light it emits but not the light itself.
Thats the short and sweet version of it. To make up something like this you will need to be fairly experienced in woodwork / upholstery etc. Not to mention electronics obviously.

While on the subject, How do amps like being consealed in the compartments of the perspex/mfd?
as long as there is some form of air getting in, then it should be sweet, the last thing u want is overheating, and boom, possible make some vents?, even a fan?
Yeah they do need some ventilation, one fan on either side of the box pushing and pulling the air out is usually enough.......99% of amps do have thermal protection so they will go into protect mode if they get too hot.
