    Default vs commodore car audio

    hi ive recently bought a vs commodore series 2 acclaim i have just a sony headset and 2 xplode 6x9 speakers in the back but now i want to put a nice system in the car im willing to spend about $700 hundred any ideas. i know very little about car audio.

    $700 will get you an amp and some nice components for the front (Brand new), however you can get some good 2nd hand amps pretty cheap on ebay etc. these days. I grabbed a very nice alpine 80wrms x4ch amp for ~$200 not long ago. some splits for $2-300, and you should be able to find a decent sub for $200 odd. you can bridge 2 channels for the sub and amp the FRONT speakers with the remaining 2 channels. most decent 4 channels amps are bridgeable to allow this. (just make sure you match the sub carefully to the specs of the amp. Generally something 150-300wrms @ 4ohm only)

    A 4 channel Sony Asemetric and 12" sub in prefab box with cable is easily done for around $700 installed

    i have audioline amps which are the cheapo ones at jb hi-fi and they do great as amps, cheap doesnt always mean shit and since amps are very expensive go audioline
