hi i was wondering. i have a jvc headunit with one rca out(red and white) lol... i got 1 sony amp 600w and an optional audio 800w mono amp, rear rockford fosgates (power), and 2 jvc fronts. my question is i wana hook up the fronts and the rears but i have 1 rca out on the headunit..any way i can get all four of em going to the song amp as the optional audio amp is for the subs lol... i can only run the rears atm and the fronts to the head unit
cheers boys
RCA splitters are your friend. One female to two male cables are what you want. Any JB Hi-Fi, WOW Sight and Sound, even Dick Smith and Jaycar should stock them.
Does your Sony amp have a RCA Preout on it? And is the Sony amp a 4-channel amp? If so then use splitters to get all 4-channels on the Sony amp and then use the preout to run RCA to the OA amp.

Hmmm your going to be splitting this signal quite a bit, won't be great but it will work. Give me a minute for a diagram.

ahhhh cheers man... makes sense lol.. but with those sorta wires would it be able connect fronts / backs and the subs from the sony amp??
So you will have two white RCA and two red RCA cables going to Sony amp, and one red and one white going to OA amp.
Tell me if you can't work out my diagram and I'll make a better one.
EDIT: Hmmm looks purple when I upload it, I swear it was blue in paint, LOL.

cheerss mate good diagram ...just getting my head round it. easy hook up. if i follow the diagram...do you no any easier way to hook this up? or is this the general way for this sorta setup?
Easier way would be to buy a H/U with 3 lots of RCAs. Other than that, can't think of another way, unless the OA amp has RCA outputs?

true..not sure dont think so... will be crazy wiring lol cheers for the diagram mate ...that will help heaps.![]()
hey there sprayzz,
Just be aware that the more times you split the signal the weaker the signal becomes... therefore you may find the volume of the sound after you have put in all those splitters will be significantly low........ and you could possibly end up with engine noise...
Just thought i would make you aware of this... but if you want to stick with that sony H/U then unfortunately you have no other choice but to follow acarmody's diagram.....
Good luck with the setup....
Cheers

cheers VQXTC yeah iv been thinking, it might be better to just get a h/u with 3 lots of rca's ,less splitters , wires and looks cleaner, and the sounds will be much better...
