Hi I have had greg mod my head unit with rca and aux and I was running a single 4 channel 640 watt sound stream amp to run my fronts and single 12" JBL sub which was clean and loud, and now I have added a mono Pioneer 800 watt amp to drive the sub and the 4 channel for all the speakers. I have plugged in the mono to the other amp via the rca output it has and there is not much bass from the sub does not matter how much i tune the mono is there a specail way to hook it up or do i need to do something else to get it to work.
Could be a number of things
Gain settings- If the gain on your 4 channel amp is set higher than your mono block, then it will reach higher volume levels before the mono block does. Begin by lowering the gain levels on your 4 channel amp, as low as it allows you. then check the gain on your mono block. If the bass does not improve, then the issue lies elsewhere.
EQ settings- Because your running a sub, ideally you should have your front/rear speakers, running on a high pass. If your 4 channel amp has a HPF option, make sure you have it switched on, somewhere around the 80-100hz mark is a good starting point. By eliminating the lower frequencies from going to your front/rear speakers, any adjustment made to the bass levels, will now only effect the sub. Onec that's done, experiment with adjusting the bass levels via the head unit.
It could be something else like insuffciuent grade power cable to your mono, of the fact that you have wired it incorectly. I suggest you contact Greg either via the forum or on his mobile, and have a talk with him about it.
