Can someone recommend me a good place in Melbourne to install a double din unit, reasonably priced and RELIABLE. A few places have quoted me $120-130.. Recon i could get cheaper??
Although i dont have an idea on Melbourne installation prices, that does sound reasonable to tell you the truth......its not an easy job.

Autobarn Dandenong charges 100
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!
Check out my other topic mate, I don't know much about cars and I did it myself in about 30 minutes, Buy the correct ISO / Converter plug from Autobarn and then your double din unit should just plug into your holden plug, That's pretty much it..... If you wish to use steering wheel controls solder 1 wire from the plug elsewhere.... It's really not that much of a hassle, I'd do it myself again if i needed too.... But $100 - $130 seems pretty reaosnable, And you probably won't find anything under $100 "Unless they're recommendations / friends"

don't know what they charge for installing just a Head unit but give them a call...Phatt Audio Concepts - Craftsmen Of Car Sound - Home having my new system done by them... They are in Braeside Vic.
Give it a go yourself. Try and buy a plug that converts the holden to what ever you have.
Failing that if you cant solder, grab yourself a set of crimpers and joiners.
Follow a wire diagram and you cant go wrong. The headunit wires will be marked.
Have to start somewhere

As said before. You could probably do it yourself for all of 30 bucks for the harness to go from factory to stereo. That price isn't too bad though.
