For series 1 vy Calais
I want iPod compatiable (aux is fine)
3rca
and need to be able to do the cat mod for steering wheel control
I don't care about DVD tv just want doubble din for looks
wat price will I be looking at and any links are appreciated
Not sure about a wired steering wheel interface (can go IR anyway), but:
Ryda Car Audio - Kenwood DPX-MP3110 Car CD MP3 Tuner($278.85)
This one says "steering remote control ready", so i assume a wired input:
Ryda Car Audio - JVC KW-XR616 Car MP3 CD USB Tuner($244.85)
You'll probably notice none of these have 3 RCA preouts, not sure you would want 3 (front + subwoofer is usually enough). But if you are running the rears off an amp, just set the fader using the gain control for the rears. Its why i usually suggest a single DIN unit, as you get more "bang for buck" so to speak.
If youre dead set on 3 RCAs, by the look of it you'll need to go with a LCD screen / DVD player.....which will increase the price considerably.
EDIT:
Heres some Double DINs with 3 RCA outputs:

I don't like the look of single din, what price am I looking at if I hit up a LCD DVD with 3 rcas, IDE just prefer 3 rcas so I can tine and don't need splitters and shit
Scrap that the jvc is what I want unless the kenwood does what I inturpret it to
"Installer & Backup Memory ( Store & Backup Audio & Video Settings)"
does this mean it Copys CDs I put in? ( I know this is a feature on the jeep cheroke standard HU)
Nope, it just has a memory for all the sound / video settings (bass, treble, etc etc)

Cheers
ill get the jvc.
Wats the diffeence between a 12" and 13" sub lookng at a jl sub an it comes in 13" as well as 12"
and port or not to port?
Not a big difference AFAIK (note ive never heard a 13" sub though).
IMO a properly ported box will be better all-round when compared to a sealed box. In saying that a sealed box is much easier to build.

the Clarion MAX386VD is still available and can be bought for around 400-500 has 3 pairs of RCAs, DVD and an AUX input....it can also have a CCUIPOD1 cable attached to it which will allow it control iPods and iPhones but it won't charge an iPhone...it also won't have a USB input, even though it can have iPod control.
It's not the be all and end all of screens but I think you will like it, the biggest downfall is load times.
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!
