Hey guys, i'm new if you can't tell by now.
I'm picking up my VS ute tomorrow, and i'm going to need help from scratch on a sound system..
I'm more of a heavy metal, double kick type of music person.. So i'd like to put 2 subs in my ute if possible.. Although, i'm also someone who likes RnB and occasional trance sort of stuff..
Has anyone got messurements on a sub box for 2 12" subs? or even 10" maybe..?
I've already got my head unit, was given to me by one of my mates, it's pretty much brand new
But yeah, has anyone got any ideas on a nice setup?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Leevers.
Its going to be hard to fit 2 x 12s in your ute im sorry to say. There's two options for a subwoofer in your car. First one is mounted beside the fuel tank - see this thread for a run-down:
VG to VS ute Subwoofer enclosure with measurements
Second option is to go with an enclosure behind the passenger seat, its a tight fit and means the seat cant go all the way back though. Ive done a few of these and they dont sound too bad. I cant find any examples atm, but if your interested i'll see if i can dig up some pics.
For speakers i'd go with front splits (component) speakers, mounted in the factory location. Then a decent 4ch. amp to power the lot, that'll give you a decent amount of volume (especially in a ute).
Maybe look at this thread, it'll give you a good idea of what to buy and how much to spend etc.![]()

Sound system is all in apart from the sub nowBought a set of alpine 6.5inch type R splits, an RE 4 channel amp, and an alpine 12" type S sub.. Not 100% sure on the deck, it's one my mate gave me, it does the job.. Sub gets put in on thursday, and will be running on friday
It is going next to the fuel tank
