What sort of connection is this?

Its on an Alpine branded cable, bout 30ft long, and it was coiled up under the passenger footwell carpet. Since been replaced to that little hidey-hole shelf behind the glovebox...

Anyone know what its for? The other end goes to the back of my head unit, but isnt plugged in...


Sorry bout the blur, it was night time, I was holding an LED torch in my mouth (for camera's autofocus - cant focus in the dark, preflash ), laying upside down accross the passenger seat and trying to get the camera to focus just as I was getting a cramp in my shoulder... LOL.

I can get a better one if needed...

I installed an alpine head unit and cd stacker, the cable looked vaguely like that and the length was also roughly the same, as was the thickness.

Cool as, that would explain the length and it's position. I have found screw holes indicating something was mounted in the passenger footwell... There would be the former stacker mount... Thanks guys, I had a feeling it was AudioVisual, for a screen or such, but thats explained it perfectly...
