Hey guys,
Basically I need some advice, perhaps someone has had this before so I can confirm what has happened. Last night I was coming home, I turned my stereo up and then the subs basically cut out. I got out to have a look and there was no power going to the amp. I switched the stereo off, and switched it back on. I have confirmed that all the connections are ok including power / ground / remote. I decided perhaps it overheated, although it didn't feel hot. I disconnected the RCA's.
I decided to leave it for the night and come back to it this morning. The amp did switch back on this morning however I noticed that if I plug the RCA cables into it, it dies. Seems to me like it's dead because as soon as it gets a signal it can't handle it. I'm hoping it's the amp and not the subs, but at the moment I can't really tell the difference. What are your thoughts?

Disconnect everything from it, all power wires, all RCA's, all speaker outputs.
All connecting should be done with the system off.
Then connect power, ground, remote. Make sure ground is good. Don't assume it is because you checked already. Undo it, give the metal a rub with some sand paper then redo it up. See if amp turns on.
Then connect RCA's. See if it turns on. If it doesn't, there's something wrong with the amp. If it does turn on, go to next step.
Then connect speaker outputs. See if it turns on. If not, check the subs on a different amp. If it turns on, you probably had a ground problem and it's all fixed now![]()
So after all the possible scenarios it turns out my Capacitor was only half working. I took the capacitor out and replaced it with a 3 way distributor and now it's sweet and dandy. Thank goodness I didn't have to replace the monoblock!
