Default Complete fusion powerplant system. Thoughts?

EDIT: Decided to return to my original idea and go with Hifonics. Thanks for everything Joe. I am HIGHLY recommending Joe for you audio needs!

    Hey there forum!

Ok so its time to upgrade my sound system...

Ive been doing some research and from what ive seen, the fusion "powerplant" range has the best bang for your buck...

Im thinking of doing a complete powerplant system throughout (excluding the head unit), but thought id get opinions before i go and buy it all...

First off here is what i will be buying by the end of the week most probably...

    - 2 X 15" fusion powerplant subs (1500 watt peak) - FUSION Electronics
    - 1 X fusion powerplant d class monoblock (3000 watt peak, so will power both subs with ease) - FUSION Electronics
    - 1 X set of powerplant 6X9's - FUSION Electronics
    - 1 X set of powerplant 6.5" splits - FUSION Electronics
    - 1 X powerplant 2 chan amp for all the speakers - FUSION Electronics

Along with this im going to build my own custom boot fitout so it looks clean and tidy (unlike the current setup)

So please tell me what you think/know about the new powerplant range and if anyone has a powerplant setup id love to know where to hear one before i buy it!

    Thanks!

    Gday swiftymcfeat,

I'm the owner of Shopping Secure, the car audio sponsor on here. I'm not going to say much about Fusion as theres a conflict of interest since I'm not a Fusion dealer.

What I will do is ask you a few questions about your needs and requirements to assess whether or not that specific setup suits your needs. If I believe I can offer you something better I will also make an appropriate offer to use some of the gear from my site, Shopping Secure - Car Audio Specialists

A couple basic things I would like to know:

    1. What sort of budget have you set aside for this upgrade (I could check the market values on all that gear but I would prefer to start from scratch with you)
    2. What is your expectations from the upgrade? Do you want something to pound the road as you drive through the suburbs or do you want something that will offer the best sound quality?
    3. Where are you located? I may be able to suggest a couple of cars to have a listen to as I've been working on customer vehicles for demonstration purposes around Australia.

I know you have asked about that specific setup but if you truly want my thoughts I need to know where your coming from.

Now, if you would like to have a conversation feel free to add me to MSN (sales@shoppingsecure.com.au) or you can call me on 0424 141 390. I will also send you a PM to remind you to check this thread.

We hope to hear from you soon mate.

    Hey Joe...

Well, i want something that is really going to GO HARD, much harder than my current system.... But not with the huge price tag. I live just around the corner from "Ryda" and they have some awesome prices on the fusion gear. Ill check your site out though and continue to look :O

    Thanks

Mate I got a Full FUSION POWERPLANT system installed on the weekend.

1200w 4 ch amp (125w RMS per ch)
120w RMS 6.5' splits in the front
    110w RMS 6.5' 2-ways in the rear
12' sub being fed around 600w RMS from a 1000w mono amp.
2 gauge power into 2x4 gauge cable to feed the amps. new 12 gauge speaker wire all round and dynamat in the doors and boot.

I am that impressed with the system. I drive around with a smile on my face now.
Greg at ASR (forum sponsor) did the work and it is amazing. people who tell you FUSION is crap have no idea and obviously haven't a clue what they are talking about.
I wouldn't get the 6x9s but cos you are getting the sub which defeats the purpose of the bass made from the 6x9s just get a set of 2-ways.
It is really good quality stuff man and for the price it is awesome

Yes I can get my hands on the Fusion gear but I would rather you come down the hume highway to liverpool and listen to one of my demo systems so you can hear some of my gear first

I realize there are much better products out there than fusion... I was originally going to get hifonics...

There are a few reasons for my choice of fusion though...

I currently only have fusion amps (rest of my system is clarion) and while they arent the best, they do the job nicely. With saying this, i voided my warranty on my fusion amp in 2 different ways (installed my self and removed the sticker to look inside myself) yet when my amp was playing up fusion payed for postage and fixed the amp for free.

Fusion is also very good quality FOR ITS PRICE RANGE.

There is more but i cant remember haha. I will be going to check out Joe's system though :P

I have not had any trouble with my Fusion PP gear and I believe for the money the sound quality is quite good. I'm currently running Fusion PP 4 ch amp, 6.5' splits front, 6.5' coaxials rear and soon to be running Fusion PP Bass pack (which includes 12" Sub and Monoblock amp). I recommend having a listen to a few different systems if you are unsure.

They can't be too bad, if I came first place at a SQ comp last year, at Autobarn Bankstown.
I competed against SPL Dynamics, Focal, and JL ZR's. Audiophiles weren't looking down their noses at me, after the win, were they???

Edit: Btw, that was with a set of 6.5 inch Reactors!

Also, name one car audio company that you can call and have a friendly chat with, without being palmed off to a retail outlet? Not only do they have good products, but old fasion service is the reason why I decided to support them in the first place!

But good on you for choosing Joe! He's a top bloke that offers great support also!!!!

Vg-ute-mad are your door speakers in a custom enclosure or do you just have sound deadener?

    Know it all replies?

We only reccomend better gear, because we know better, as simple as that.

Choosing components is only a small part. Correct instillation, tuning, ect, is what seperates good components, and good installs from the rest.

it wasn't directed at you HCVP. I don't think I have read you bad mouthing fusion just for the hell of it on here but i could be wrong. everyone has their opinion but I don't understand how somebody who has never listened to a fusion set-up can have a clue as to what they are talking about (a few ppl on here). I understand that there is better sound quality then Fusion however Fusion is exceptional manufacturing and product life. Also I haven't found another manufacturer who will actually help with your query's.
I joined this forum for the experience and knowledge some of you hold which i do not.... not to read posts by ppl who do not add anything constructive, instead just write something to make them sound as if they know what they are talking about StoneX for example.

He asked for opinions, I gave my opinion. He didn't ask for only positive opinions.

I'm sorry for offending a Fusion fanboy though, carry on recommending it

At the moment, I only have sound proofing and not sound deadening... In my ute, I did have sealed pod enclosures for the powerplant splits though. With the VS at the moment, I have made up some mdf pods which are sealed with resin, and sit behind the vs door grills for that slealth look.

Though soon, I will be going sealed again, as I get more tighter mid bass.

It's all good HCVP, it wasn't directed at you as Marc has said....

It was directed at Stone, as he hasn't been entirely honest with us....

Just put it this way..... What he has said on here, is not exactly what he had said to Daz (highwaymenace).
