Allrighty, i'm assuming you are after rear speakers, because you don't want to modfity your existing front door trims? If not, then correct me, and we'll go from there.
A few things you need to decide before you purchase anything.
If you want to run both the sub, and speakers from an amp, then you will need a 4 channel amp. This will provide suitable power for a set of speakers, however the remaining 2 channels will only offer a limited amount of power for driving a sub.
If you want 2 subs, then a dedicated mono block amp is required, then an additional amp to power the speakers, should you choose to amplify them aswell.
Buy the amp last, because the voice coil arrangements, and number of subs you use, will dictate what type of amplifier you will need.
Have you factored in wiring cost's, installation (if your not doing it yourself) and what type of enclosure you plan to use for the sub/s?
Do you allready have an aftermarket head unit in place?
What are you after, sound quality, sheer output, a mix of both?
$600 dosen't go very far, but if you take your time, and are lucky enough, you could pick up a few bargain's, and put together something reasonable for the money.
What's your location, so if need be, we can point out some used components that may be in your area...
Located in Western Suburbs Vic
Car alreaddy has front speakers and headunit installed
Main wiring is alreaddy run (excuse my knowlege here), Power wire (thick gauge) amp wire (from head unit) the 2 "rca" wires? rear speakers are also currently conntected to H/U
I Will be installing the sub amp and rear speakers my self
I will most lilkly also make a sub enclosure to suit my boot (looking for something lightwieght and easy to remove) its going in a vr btw
im after sound quality and output, the cars not a daily nor a showcar just a weekend cruiser and im not willing to spend thousands of $$$$ for how often i use the car,
thanks so far

come on guys looking for some quick help
bit of help guys, i no you proibly get this q alot but after quick help
600 watts RMS is a fair bit in my opinion, but if you want that much, then go for it. Also when looking for amps to power the subs/speakers take into account the impedance, I found this page quite helpful; Ohms law & Subwoofer Wiring Diagrams it was pretty confusing at first but once i made sense of it, I found lots of info.
Also, if your just after some cheap gear then maybe check out fusion, (supercheap has a sale on atm with some cheap fusion amps - well at least in Brisbane). I got a 4 channel fusion amp the other day and I'm just using it to run an $80 kenwood sub, and some parcel shelf speakers, and its loud enough for what I want.
Anyway, hope that helps, and if you've got any other questions or problems when installing just ask, I'm more then happy to give advice if I can.
