    Default Problem!!! Vt door speakers

Today I bought 4 6" Alpine type R's for the doors in my VT and they wont fit in either the stock housings or the several that came with it.

Do I need to buy housings for it to fit or do I have to make up a custom job?

    Cheers for any help.

I have fitted Type R's to a VT, not a direct fit, but you need to trim the pods to make them fit.

Also use the supplied spacers as the speaker is quite deep and will hit your door. Alpine Type R speakers are all 6.5", the stock VT speakers are 6", that's why they seem as if they won't fit. Basically screw your spacers to the existing pods, you'll need to cut the back of the pod to allow for the depth and they'll fit straight in.

the type r's also move alot of air... if you can spend some extra money and get some dynamat/roadkill and like the door skin with about 20cm*20cm and it will make it sound deeper and cleaner.

just a simple trim on the standard pods should fit them.. but ive never fitted r's into a vx/vt so like mentioned above you might need to space them..
