Default hooking up i pod to head unit

    i've got a vz sv6 with a Kenwood KDC-MP6043U installed.
i hook up my i touch with the white data transfer cable (the one that plugs into the bottom of the i touch and has a usb on the other end), but when i do this i can only change album/ songs though the head unit which takes forever and is dangerous whilst driving.

Just wanting to know how can i choose my song on my i touch like i normally would and have it played thought my head unit. Will an AUX cable fix my problem?

I do remember something about being able to control the iPod through the iPod itself, maybe look in the manual?

But yes, a simple 3.5mm aux cable plugged into the front will fix the problem and you'll be able to control it from the iPod itself. The only downside is the iPod wont be charged.
