does the amp have to be at the same power as the sub or how does it work to get the most noise out of them?

no an amp does not need to run the sub at 100%..

you can get alot of power out of a amp by the way you set up the subs/voicecoils of the sub.

what amp you trying to run and what sub.. i can try help you...

    you only need 400w @ 2ohms.

    thats a good thing..

    so...

    anything above 300wrms @ 2 ohms

maybe even look at a 2 channel amp and bridge it...

if you want something really cheap. audioline 2 chan. i think that works out to about 250wrms @ 2 ohms.

whats your budget for an amp?

Kicker mono block kx400.1 - eBay Amplifiers, Audio, Video, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 03-Jun-10 23:58:09 AEST)
or just walk into jb hifi and have a look for an amp... you dont need that much power so you have a big range.
or like stated above. get it off the internet. but if you dont want to wait go into jb/strathfield. you can get an amp for under 200.

Most 2 channels won't run a 2 ohm load when bridged. He'll end up with a dead amp.
