jaycar sub and amp

but i dont know what kind of amp i will need for it. im also looking at the jaycar amps for this

can anyone tell me what amp from this selection will be best?
im trying to save as much money as i can on the amp, so i only want one with the features i need

awesome thanks for that. also, do you know much about these subwoofers from jaycar? i heard this venom model is good, but im not sure if i should go with that, or a bigger name like pioneer or sony xplod.

Mate, I think I would just about have to be the Jaycar King! LOL

That sub is equivalent to a $200-250 name brand sub. It will hit pretty hard. They do have better subs though. All depends on your budget. How much you looking at spending?

as little as possible without losing quality. maybe no more than $120 for the sub itself

they are the best bang for buck amps! especially the new 1s cos they look awsome as well! some name brand amps dont even come near the overall power some of these amps put out, for example, the new 4x100 4 channel amp, i have 1 myself, puts out 130wrms per channel @ 4ohm, try to find another amp that has that output for under $300. I will be getting 2 4 my next car, one to run speakers and one 2 run sub!

ide say go 4 it, depending on what u wanna run, i'de say get the 4x100~

the sub is around $80, the amp is around $160
those subs go very hard.
i recently put a 15 inch in a new model subaru legacy.
with the factory speakers ran of the jaycar 4x50wrms
and the 15inch ran of the 2x150wrms.
this thing sounds insane!!
i was absolutely shocked at the quality of the factory speakers in these new models.
they go harder than the base to midrange alpine speakers.

the sub sounds smooth as silk, and the amps barely break a sweat.
top quality gear, for bargain basement prices.

I would have to agree with the JayCar stuff. Ive just purchased a 2x150, 4x50 and the 6inch splits from there, the price was awsome and all the reviews are good to
Im also running a 12inch kicker dual voice coil sub (400WRMS @ 4ohms)
and 6x9 velocity (bluapunkt) coaxials for the back shelf
all together sounds fkn awsome and cost less than $1000 inc JVC head unit

have you guys had a look for similar items on ebay?

i got my amp and sub from there and im very impressed at how much i saved how good they sound. i even used the boss amp (check the link below) to power both my front splits and sub. i didnt think it would work but i really get alot of power (and clarity) outta them. the boss sub (500wrms) was $100 with delivery, and i got a mate to build me a wicked custom box for $65.

i also got a pioneer 7750 (2005 model) deck off ebay. i recomend this one! costs $380 with delivery. i called about 7 car audio places near me (JB HIFI, strathfield, audiocom, some independant places, etc, etc) and the best price i was offered was $565 even after i told them bout ebays price. thats bout $200 saving!

anywho, my point is its worth a look do a search for 'car mp3' and itll bring up all the car mp3 cd players. some no-brand decks go for as little as $100 or so. great if ur on a budget, though i wouldnt think they'd sound really good.

its also worth noteing that with most of this stuff that u but on ebay isnt off just some random dude, its actually off an online store through ebay. as an example, the guy with the 800w amp has a feedback score of 335, with 100% of people (335 of them) leaving positive feedback. so its pritty safe

also, u can ignor the bit where i said "do a search for 'car mp3' and itll bring up all the car mp3 cd players. some no-brand decks......". i thought i was in another thread (they guy that had $200 to spend on a deck)

but yeah, as i said before... consider ebay
