    Default Option Audio OAX502 for type R ?

    hey all i was just wondering how this amp would go ( Option Audio OAX502 ) running a duel 4 ohm Alpine type R sub.

    Well it matches the rated input power of the sub 500 @ 2ohm.(assuming you have the 10-12'' version) So it will be adequete, but it won't offer any headroom above that. Depends on what type of enclosure your using, and what you really want out of the sub.

    There is a bit more to look into when selecting amps, but if your just starting out and on a tight budget, then it mostly dosen't matter.

    How would we know the best price you can get it for? You'll have to find that out for yourself.

    It would run it fine mate, as HCVP said headroom isnt great. What is your budget? Also, all OA gear is quoted at 14.4 volts, just keep this in mind.. you will only get the suggested rated power when your car is on and altenator is charging the battery.

    well i was hoping for something around the $300 dollar mark, if i have to go higher ill probably have to wait till i finish school and get a job so yeh

    My pick for a 2 ohm mono block amp around the $300 mark would be the Clarion DPX1851
    850rms @ 2 ohm Ryda Car Audio - Clarion Car Audio DPX1851 Car Amplifier($329.95)
    I have found these range of amps from Clarion to be extremely reliable, and good value for money.
