recently had a sub box made by a place who shall remain nameless but the end result was absolute s**t not to mention the fact he was treating thousands of dollars worth of gear like it was nothing. im in need of someone who can build me a new one, i have all the designs and that from supplier, i just need someone who can put it all together properly as its used for comps i dont want any more dodgy work. it is a pretty straight foward design the only differencebetween this and an off the shelf box is the size of the overall box and the port.
so if you know of anywhere/anyone that can take care of this your suggestions would be appreciated
Mate are you using a round, or slot port? If you allready have the dimensions, and the cut out's, why don't you just grab some MDF at the required thickness from Bunnings, or similiar, then have it cut to size at a jionery.
Once that's done, take it home and assemble it yourself. There's not much to it really, the hardest part for beginner DIY encosures is getting the volume and tuning fq sorted, which you've done.
Out of curiosity, what did they do to your original enclosure?
yeh was gona give it a crack myself but as i said ive started doing comps with it and i know that the box is the most important part of any system and im just worried if its not sealed properly or something im going to lose numbers. with the first enclosure the main issue was the fact the hole cutouts looked more like jaggered ovals with screws sticking out everywhere. also when he was screwing the subs in he was using a crap cordless drill with a flat battery, slipped off the screw and put a f*****g hole through a $800 dd sub.
Don't be worried about not sealing the box up mate. Grab some mdf glue and run a bead of glue down every join. do this 2-3 times and it will seal up a treat.
