D34 is the usual replacement for a commodore.
How big is your stereo? Your lights dimming might be caused by a simple wiring issue

iv got 2 amps, a 4 channel and a big mono block 1600watt option audio sub 2 farad capacitor. stock vs speakers in the doors (atm) and sumtin else in the rear but im changing those 2 option audio aswell and the lights only dim at high volume but my stereo can go much much louder but i dont wona blow anyfin so i keep it down so nufin dims. all the wiring for the stereo has been replaced with new stuff so basically nufin in my stereo is stock apart from the from speakers lol. i was looking at the d34 will 750cca b powerful enough
What size wiring are you using, have you upgraded the earth wires in the engine bay, and how well earthed are your amps? I assume you mean 1600wrms
Yes the D34 will be powerful enough

yer wrms lol havent done the engine bay just yet its all still a working progress amps are earthed fairly well iv only just getting this problem since i got the new option audio amp in so i instantly thought a more powerful battery
oh and im using 4gauge wire
I don't think 4 gauge will run 1600wrms properly, I would upgrade that.
Also what is the 4-channel amp running if you have stock door speakers?

Use the biggest power and earth wires your amps can handle, then use at least 4 gauge wire for your battery-to-chassis, engine-to-chassis, and a bigger alternator-to-battery wire. Chances are your dimming will be solved

Do the cabling first and see how it goes. If it still plays up then you can look at the battery.

i think ill still get the battery lil extra power wont hurt. cheers for the help guys
Hey, i had the exact same issue in my VY. I got the yellowtop Optima and the issue no longer exist's. The lights dim when bass kicks in.
Also the standard battery was constantly charging and it kept eating away my alternator bushes, eventually the bushes wore out and alternator stops working all together, can really give you the shits.
