There's a 120A model that's a straight swap, pretty much... Holden stock (but Mitsubishi branded) it or there's a dodgy copy you can find on eBay. I wouldn't recommend the eBay one though as mine melted around the positive connection. I've gone back to a stock Bosch 100A model as my previous stockie lasted 7 years with 2400-3200Wrms of amps.

You'll have to call your local auto electricians to find out if they can rewind your current alternator for a higher output.

I found Holden to be the cheapest supplier of the 120amp alternator, but I get trade price. Also I'm sure Sydney would have more suppliers to choose from.

Maybe, does your alternator say "Bosch Made in Australia" on the back of the alternator, or does it say Mitsubishi on it?

Well that guy is a retard. I know that Holden sell it as I bought mine from a Holden dealership, and I'm quite sure that all dealerships use the same program. I'd get you the Holden part number but I lost my receipt.

Try asking for a VX 120amp Mitsubishi alternator, possible that the VTs didn't have them? They all bolt up the exact same.

why go 120amps when u can go a whopping 300AMPS!! now that should be enough to power a footspa since ur not using ur left foot unless ofcorse if u got manual which sucks for u so meh..

Why would you need such a high rated amp for? An alternator is not everything when it comes to auto electrics. You will usually find a better battery will give more benefit.

Not only would such an alternator cost heaps, but then you would have to much heaps more for a custom bracket, then pay more for massive power cable, and THEN find a way to hook it up to the wiring harness. But you would also have to raise your idle because that would suck over 4kW from your engine.

A standard amp would be fine to charge a 2nd battery as far as I know. The 4wd boys only use 120 amp alternators even with dual batteries.

i know that that is over killl i just want to know if that guy is telling you the truth as i have been told so much rubbish from people, the power cable is no problem as i have the cable allready run in my car ,and im not fussed about the power loss as its a family car not a race car

If you design the dual battery setup right the current alternator should have no issues. It's not like it will be trying to charge 2 fully discharged batteries so it will be fine. Curious as to why you would want 2 Optima batteries though.

I believe its not too hard to fit up a 140amp LS1 alternator. My auto sparky said its not to hard to fabricate a good bracket.
