Question VZ ute stereo install couple of questions.

    Hey guys,

Attempting my first audio build, so should be interesting to say the least! haha.

Im looking at going Alpine gear as I have heard they are pretty good, is this true?

Thinking 2x 12" Type R subs for behind the seats. Will I be able to get these to fit? or should i look at the S type?

Type R 6.5" Splits for the doors, I believe these come with tweeters, should I leave these on the speakers or use them to replace the stock ones?

The amps I am thinking of are One Mono Block With Digital Readout Part No MRD-M1005 And Other One 4 Channel Power Amp Part No MRP-F450. Will these amps suit my install?

I plan on deadening the doors to avoid rattles and while I am going I will be ripping out the entire dash to get rid of two rattles that are pissing me off, so as i go i will tighten and insulate anything that looks suspicious!

Well cheers guys for your time.

hey mate definitely go with alpine gear, with the splits i know the type r's have a higher rms output but i install alpine gear for a living and personally would go with the type s's cause i think they are clearer.
with the subs for a ute you wont fit the type r's or s's with a correct volume box.your best bet is to go with a couple of bazooka tubes which pump out huge amounts of bass.
check out BAZOOKA Mobile Audio - Welcome for some info. good luck with the install mate

Alpine gear isnt bad, but theres better out there for the money IMO.

That gear list equals over $2k in gear, for that sort of money im sure you'll be able to get better.

I dont think the Type R's with fit in boxes behind the seats, maybe Type S's will. I think youre better off going with a decent shallow subwoofer (or two if you want).

    Here's my suggestions:

    Front Splits:
Shopping Secure - Car Audio Specialists - Audio Development AD6
    Ryda Car Audio - Boston SC60 6" Component Speaker($298.85)

    Sub/s:
    Ryda Car Audio - Pioneer TS-SW3001S4 12" Shallow Subwoofer($309.85)
    Ryda Car Audio - Kenwood KFC-WPS1200F 12" Subwoofer Flat($186.85)
    Maybe even one of these:
Ryda Car Audio - JL Audio 12TW53 12" Shallow Subwoofer ($567.95)

    Speaker Amp:

Ryda Car Audio - Pioneer GM-5400T 2 Channel Car Amplifier($239.85)
Shopping Secure - Car Audio Specialists - Ground Zero Iridium GZIA 2230HPX

    Mono Amp:
Shopping Secure - Car Audio Specialists - SPL Dynamics S-1200D
Ryda Car Audio - Kenwood Car Audio KAC-9104D Car Amplifier($348.85)

You know you dont have to go with a single brand for every component?, 99% of the time a single brand doesnt provide the best value for an entire system.
