    Default kicker sub losing bass

Hi all, i've got an issue with my kicker sub... It seems that at random times, usually happening quite often now the bass will be pumping normally as it does then dims a fair bit as if i just turned the bass down on the sub (but not like there is no bass at all, there still is some bass).. then it will go back to normal again. Like i mentioned, vey random times this will happen and the dimming does not really have an exact time that it lasts it may be for only 30 seconds of a song or 2 minutes. What could possibly be the problem??

Yeah i was told to check the RCA cables and make sure they're fine which they are, also to see if i'm getting 12V to the amp itself..

Well i've thoroughly checked the cables and the earth wire now i just need a multimeter to check the voltage going to the amp.. What if i am receiving enough voltage, what then? could it be battery, amp or needing more power?? i'm stuck and pissed!!

No, they will run warm unless they're being run near their maximum which then they'll be hot. Most amps will have a thermal cut-off which kicks in if it's too hot.

You really need to stop the car next time it faults and see how hot the amp is and see what lights are lit up on the amp, whether a protection light has come on or something. At the same time while the fault is still present, measure the voltage from the car chassis to the positive terminal, remote terminal and ground.
