    Default 4inch speakers.

Hi Guys, I just bought some Boston S45 4'' speakers but they are to deep for the hole. Does anyone know or recommend any decent shallow mount 4'' speakers that will be fine for running of the head unit?
    Cheers

Hmm. Id try eBay, and just search through for size. Really, the deeper the speaker the better it is. So, maybe it might be better to upgrade your current speakers (if you haven't done that already) and have a good few rather than heaps of "ok" ones. Just a through.

Most speaker spec sheets will tell you the mounting depths. How much room have you got to work with?
Type s's will be rubbish that small

If set up correctly, 4'' dash mounted split components are better than 6''- 6.5'' door mounted if you have the money to spend needed to acquire decent ones.

Depending on your seating position, and how tall you are, midrange fq's come to you about shoulder height, and high fq's from the tweeter slightly above ear level positioned higher on the pillar, which is as close to as ideal as you will ever get without modifying door trims ect.

A decent quality 10'' with upper fq response would round it all off nicely.

Mounting depth does not mean anything with regards to the quality of a speaker.

Where are they going? At first I assumed it was a replacement for that rubbish centre channel in some VE's, but I'm not so sure now

That was my first assumption until I looked at his "my ride" thingo

EDIT: 2" mounting depth on those Bostons, 45mm on the Vibes. Might fit
