Default What head unit would your reccomend?

Currently my head unit only takes one CD, doesnt have a AUX or USB.
    its a DEH P1Y
i love it, its just getting annoying that i need to keep changing cd's.
I have a complete working system, subs and amps n all.
Just want a replacment head unit.

In short i dont want a massive screen unit, just something thats a normal size, connects to an ipod touch/iphone and maybe even charge it through usb or just an AUX port.
Nothing fancy, dont need no Blue Tooth etc.
    Price range 90-300
would like to keep it under 300, anything around 250 is the sweet spot.

If you need anymor info let me no.
    Thanks guys

Hey bud what about the Pioneer 4250sd, it has direct ipod control, 5 band equalizer, has sd and usb... Its 300 bucks at JB, only downside if you have a system is that it has 2.2v pre outs, but that should be sufficient

i recently got one of these Clarion Australia | FZ409A and i'm really quite impressed.

doesnt take cd's as it is a media headunit so takes ipod and usb drives which i really like cos the cd's dont get cluttered in the car anymore and all my music is on the usb which only takes a couple of minutes to change/add music to it when i want, also the sound quality is really good too

I really dont know how to fully explain it properly, but the RCA Pre outs would be connected to your amp, It has to do with setting gains and all that stuff, Higher Pre Out Voltages just mean you wouldnt have to set the gains on your amp as high,
    Someone help me.......

2.2v pre outs will be fine for the set up he is using. But if he ever wanted to upgrade even further should look into sound processors.

2v vs 4v vs 8v... In theory, the higher the voltage, the better it is at rejecting interference. In practice, I've used all levels of head units and have had no noise is systems with 2v RCAs and had noise in systems with 8v RCAs. So it doesn't really mean anything. It didn't even need to be brought into the thread.

When buying a head unit, find which ones have the features you require... You can just check out the main brands websites. Then have a play with them in store to see which one you find easiest to use. Then choose the one you think looks the best and is the most usable for you.

http://www.pioneer.com.au/en/Product...%205250SD.aspx - Bargain this down to close to $300
http://www.pioneer.com.au/en/Product...%204250SD.aspx - Is spot on $300 without bargaining... But you have to bargain, no one pays RRP

Looks like it does everything you want except... Explain your amp and speaker situation to us. This head unit has 2 sets of RCA, one for front speakers and one that can be EITHER rear speakers or subwoofer.
