Default VZ single disk head upgrade to 6 disk

    Hi,

I can't see this covered anywhere. I've bought a clean VZ exec and am in the process of improving it - which with an exec is a loonnngggg task. First step inside is replacing my single disk Blaupunkt head with a Blaupunkt 6 disk stacker from another VZ. Are there any issues with this, aside from the fiddly part of removing the head unit? Will the variable height power antenna switch work? Full up all the time was a recipe for replacing many masts in the past.

    Thanks

im pretty sure it's a straight forward swap...just make sure you have the security pin code that goes with it:P

no the switch won't work (i don't think) and yes its easy but make sure you have the security pin as mentioned above. Another idea which is alot cheaper is to get Phreddy (greg) from ASR (forum sponsor) to do the AUX in on your standard single disc player. I own an exec and I cannot describe how good it is to have endless music from my Ipod. Its only around 250-300 for the Aux mod and its the best money you will spend. You keep the factory look and everything still work. Phreddy usually hides the AUX port in the side of the ashtray hole (the fold down door under the headunit) so you just close it up and everything still looks factory.
Sound quality is pretty damn good too.
best money I spent on my Exec mate

Thanks for the advice guys. Phreddy is 1200 km from here but I have been talking to him about those great LED globe replacements coz green is not my colour so a trip to Sydney is probably on anyway marcdon. I'll have a schooner or three at the Panther's club while he does it, hope he doesn't rush! Cheers, Pete
