Audio head unit working but no sound.

Hi all
Just wondering if anyone has struck this problem before
I have a standard Monaro cv8 V2 and the volume control went hey wire then the noise stopped coming out.Tried a new head unit all works fine but still no sound radio or CD player. Sub amp in all fuses seem fine sub amp in boot seems fine.Had a tech 2 and checked and code in new unit all good but still on sound.Refitted old unit and disabled the DLL and all the functions came back but still no sound coming from the unit. Any ideas on this thanks!!

Could be a wiring problem.......your best off to get a multimeter and check the impedance of each pair of speaker wires (see the wiring colours sticky), the impedance should be 2.5-4.5 ohms, anything more and theres a problem with that speakers wiring or the speaker itself.

Thanks did that and found a short to eath on the dash speaker quick fix was to cut wirefor that speaker and the rest started working again!

Good to hear youve got it fixed, the head-units internal amp will shut down when one wire is touching ground / each other etc. This is to protect the amp itself.
