Hey guys,
Bought a cat 10 steering wheel interface for pioneer avic f900bt. Had no luck getting it to work.
Has anyone installed one of these on a vx calais.
If so can someone help!!!!!
i've accessories the red wire, grounded the black.
The head unit has direct connect but the instructions are only for infared.
any help would be appreciated.
i grounded the black/yellow and acc red.
I also have a purple and black/white that were all in the same plug. so grounded black/white
brown to brown
I had a go with no jumpers, no luck.
The instructions say jump # 2 but thats for pioneer infared. i have direct connect and it doesn't have instrctions for that.
I know this doesnt exactly help you, but if your pioneer headunit has direct connect behind it, you could have done it for about $2.
I bought a DEH-7250SD which has direct remote connection in the rear. What i did was take off my steering wheel controls, replace resistors already in there with some appropriate values (http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/atta...red_remote.jpg) to whatever function you want, hook up the brown wire to a 3.5mm headphone jack and to ground, and PRESTO! Steering wheel controls![]()
You don't ground the RED, it should be connected to the ACC +12v
Join the CAT10 Red to Accessories.
Join the CAT10 Black to Ground.
HOLDEN VT/VX
Confirm the vehicle’s Black/White trace is ground (factory).
Connect CAT10 Brown to vehicle Brown.
Ground the vehicle Black/Yellow trace.
As you said, the manual says to jumper #2 (infra-red)
I've never installed the CAT-10. I use the Pac-Audio SWI-PS interface. For the VX it'll be a bit tricky as you'll have to measure the resistance of each button to programme the interface. If it's the same as the VT, I have the resistance written down somewhere and should be able to help.
hey anarklov3r
can you give more detail on how to do this?? i was about to buy a SWI but if i can do it this way i wont.
im pretty sure i can get the air bag off. just need to know more about the wiring at the steering wheel and also at the head deck end.
whats the headphone jack for? and are those resistances in the link correct for every pioneer head deck?
