    basically? they wont work.

you can buy a little module to connect and wire in, heard its around 200$ plus install (unless you know what your doing).

for me? im loving my 6 stacker so no aftermarket for me

The little module you need is called a PAC. They cost $250 or so in Australia but you can get one out of the States on eBay much cheaper: PAC SWI-JACK ALPINE CLARION JVC KENWOOD Steering Wheel - eBay Adaptors, Parts Accessories, Car Electronics, Electronics. (end time 23-Aug-10 03:19:38 AEST)
I just got mine and I'm going to install it with my Alpine head unit into my vx this weekend. If you don't want to do it yourself I'm sure any installer should be able to do it.
    Four commodores and counting.

Gday, I have recently installed a Clarion DVD HU and sadly missed the Steering Wheel controls when they went. I read about the Pac SWI-JACK and was lucky to find one, 2nd hand on ebay which I got for less than $60.00.
What I can tell you is that you use the Installation Instructions for a Pontiac GTO 2004 - 2006. The Red & Black go to Acc & Ground as you would expect, and the jack gets plugged into the unit AFTER you have programmed it!!
Of the remaining wires, only the white is used, and it splices into the BROWN WIRE which is in the top plug at the rear of the unit. I have attached the link but the Pontiac & VZ colours are identical. Programming was straight forward.
Bottom line is how much are the steering wheel controls worth to you when trying to by the PAC unit - which works like a charm. (SWI-JACK is an acronym for: Steering Wheel Interface - JVC, Alpine, Clarion & Kenwood)
