will i have to get a capacitor? the first oneim runing is a 500rms amp to run my twin pioneer champion series subs and the second is a powervox 4 channel to run my 6 speakers. im wondering if ill need to run a capacitor and if theres a thing i can buy so i dont have to re wire a new power wire and ground n stuff, something like this 1 - can split into 2.... for example

No, you won't need a capacitor...ever.
What size wire are you running already?
You will probably want 2g split into 2 runs of 4g using a fused distrobution block.
The powervox will have about 10% of the power it is claiming, and might only fit 8g cable. I assume the 500wrms accepts 4g max though

im running 4g throughout the car, possible 4 g to run to 4 g fused distrobution block, and the powervox amp is fitting 4 g fine.. as my currant setup is the powervox amp running the twin pioneers, and the parcel shelf 6x9s, and the 4 door speakers off the deck, i wanna get this kenwood 500rms amp to run the subs n use the 4 channel to run the speakers. what do you think? also i just considered, im already splitting the rca's for the 4 channel. could i re-split again to run the other amp or is this not possible?
I THINK 4g might be enough for those amps combined, but I'm no expert on the numbers side of this game. I'm sure Stone or someone could jump in here and give me a hand
Yes it will work, but you will likely lose any sort of control over fader/sub level etc from your headunit.also i just considered, im already splitting the rca's for the 4 channel. could i re-split again to run the other amp or is this not possible?

could someone help? also if someone could clarify with me this. on the 4 channel there are 2 rca inputs on the amp, and due 2 my headunit only having one ouput, i had to split them, if i was to get the kenwood mono, i noticed it also has 2 rca inputs on the amp... i thought i would only have to replit again once...... why is there 2 rca inputs on a mono?? and how would i go about this?? would putting a line out converter to the front speakers bcoz they will still be conneced to the deck, and running another set of rca's that way be the best option?? please help!!
You CAN split the rcas again as I said before, if you want to keep your headunit.
What are you saying about the fronts still being connected to the headunit?

i have 6 speakers front n rear doors, and parcel shelf 6x9s. atm im running a powervox 4 channel amp and thats got 2 channels bridged to twin pineer chamption srs and the other 2 channels for the parcel shelf speakers, the 4 door speakers are running off the deck. im getting a kenwood 8104D mono, and wanna use that to run the subs n use the 4 channel for the parcel shelf speakers and the rear doors, and continue running the fronts of the deck... so i could hook up a line out convertor to give me another set of RCA's?? and how come the mono has 4 holes for rcas? L and R in and out? shouldnt it be only one set of inputs? and how will i go in wiring it all up with only one output from my head unit...?
any other suggustions
There is so much wrong with this setup that I barely know where to start.
OK first, do you drive backwards? Do you listen to concerts with your back to the band? No? Then why are you making all the music come from behind you? Get you best pair of door speakers and put them in the front, and amp them! Then choose whether you want rear door speakers or parcel tray speakers, and then amp them, and the spare set, store them or turf them. So now you will have 4 speakers in the cabin, and all amped. Make sure all 4 have HPF set and properly tuned.
Now wire up your subs with the mono. The mono amp has inputs and outputs right? Well output let you wire up another amp with the same set of RCAs, so use the outputs to hook up the Powervox amp.
I'll make a diagram, give me a minute.

thanks heaps for that acarmody!, so i will be able run an rca lead straight from the kenwood mono to the powervox amp to run the speakers. and the door speakers are jvc, and id want 2 amp up the fronts and parcel shelf then. wats wrong with leaving the rear doors in just running off the deck?
