For speakers just go a set of decent 6.5inch components in the front doors, tweeters in the factory spot are fine. Mount the cross overs next to the amp, and get a decent amp to run them. Don't add anymore speakers, a sub sure but no more speakers are needed.

In a ute on that budget, I'd look for a GOOD set of splits, then a fairly basic sub and amp will be enough to fill the little cabin.

You could probably get a 4ch amp, then run your splits + sub off that to save a few bucks

Shopping Secure - Car Audio Specialists - Option Audio OAC160
Shopping Secure - Car Audio Specialists - Audio Development AD6
Shopping Secure - Car Audio Specialists - VIBE Slick 12

+ some of the option audio deadener.

Something like that can be done for around the $1000 mark. Will be plenty loud and thats ONLY sound quality centric gear so thats not going to be that boom boom junk you hear on the streets.

Interested? I can work on a proper quote if needed
