gday guys,
Im looking into sub woofers at the moment for my car, and basically just looking for something that thumps really hard but still clear and good quality.
Was looking at these subs from kicker.
and then thought for the same price i could get a single type X
.
just wanting opinions and feedback from people whom have owned or herd either of the two setups, or also if you have any better ideas. max price would be about 500-600.
thanks heaps
My 2cents. Go with the Type X. It's going to sound better than the Kickers.
Deck: Alpine 9887
Speakers: Hertz HSK165 XL
Amps: Audison SRx2, SRx4 & Alpine M350
Subs: 2x Alpine 10" Type S
What amp will you be running them off, and do you want more volume or quality out of them?

What do you mean by "thumps really hard".
Do you prefer a punchy aggressive bass? Or a warmer, smoother bass?

if i went with the kickers, i thinked id go with this amp and run them at 2ohms, your thoughts?
Also by "thumps really loud" im after something that can go really loud without compromising sound quality to much.
with regards to the bass joe..... i don't listen to much rock or fast techno stuff, so punchy aggressive bass isn't that relevant. so i guess smoother bass
Im not a huge fan of Kickers, but you can easily get worse. I would personally choose the single Alpine over the Kickers (i have heard both), that way you dont need to sacrifice box space and adequate power is affordable. Anything with 850-1200w RMS should run it fine.

If its "smoothness" your after then I'll throw the VIBE Space 12 into the mix: Shopping Secure - Car Audio Specialists - VIBE Space 12
Where are you anyway? I could arrange a listen if needed.
