Default Has anyone fitted a PAC to their vt/vx?

I'm trying to get the steering wheel controls in my vx ss working with my alpine head unit. I bought a PAC and unsurprisingly there is no instructions for installing in commodores. However through searching the forum I have found that using the instructions for a Pontiac GTO works for VY/VZs and I have also found which wire in the vx loom is for the steering wheel controls.
Following the instructions for the GTO and wiring it up as such, I can get the volume controls working but only the volume controls. Once I try to program the mute, mode, and skip buttons nothing happens.
Has anyone successfully installed a PAC into a vt/vx, and if so, how?
    Cheers

So nobody has ever gotten the steering wheel controls in their vt or vx to work with an aftermarket head unit?

I posted the instructions on another thread.

Steering Wheel Controls Using A PESWIPS device

Scroll down until you find my post. The WH stato (should be the same as VT-VX) is the second part of the post.

The SWI-PS 's wire color is White. This is the White wire on the SWI-PS , not the vehicle!
The other wires on the SWI-PS , green, yellow, orange and blue wires are not used.

Connect the SWI-PS 's White wire to vehicle Brown wire. Connect vehicle Black/Yellow wire to chassis ground.

Black wire: Connect the SWI-PS 's black wire to chassis ground.
Red wire: Connect the SWI-PS 's red wire to a switched +12volt wire.

The purple loop wire does not need to be cut.
The brown loop wire does not need to be cut.

After that, you just need to programme it.

    Good luck.

Shouldn't it be Black/yellow? - Oh no, now I'm starting to question myself. Check the wiring diagrams, if you have them.

It's been a while since installing it

**UPDATE** I just checked the wiring diagrams, you connect the black/yellow to ground. Yellow/red looks like it's for the power antenna.

just curious, how did you get on with this?
i've had one fitted to my VX calais for a year or so, and it's wired like you've explained (as per the instructions for GTO) but only the volume up down can be programmed on mine.
this is a pioneer head deck, but the pac was s'posed to suit pioneer.

ok, reset the pac to version 9, (as per scozz76 other post comment about the WH stato) and now works with vol up/down, mute (have set mute as source to be more useful) and skip/seek up/down
still not all functions, eg mode did not work? but much better than before, thanks heaps scozz76

My bad. It is the black yellow wire. The red/yellow wire is next to the brown wire, and I guess thats what I had on my mind when I said that.

I just redid mine, I got all my buttons working with my Alpine head unit. I did have to make sure I programmed the skip/ seek buttons as track up/down and not as preset up/down or it skipped between folders rather than tracks. But its all good now.
