No, the sub can take 500wrms and the amp only puts out 400wrms. I mean it will work but not to its maximum potential.

EDIT: Wait do you have the dual 2-ohm version, SWR-1222D? If so than you want a 1-ohm capable amp.

Ok well this would work but you will be pushing the amp to its limits, but it should work fine, Shopping Secure - Car Audio Specialists - Ground Zero Iridium GZIA 2230HPX

I'm sure if you ask Joe or Philthy really politely and say please they may drop a few bucks of this, http://www.shoppingsecure.com.au/ind...d&productId=35 , probably not to $300 but worth an ask.

But realistically getting 500wrms at 1 or 4 ohm for $300 is pushing your luck.

Are you sure about reccomending the Ground Zero amp? "1 x 540 WRMS @ 4 Ohm bridged (14,4 V, 1% THD)"
    I assume you thought that was 540wrms @ 1ohm.

The Option Audio amp Acarmody mentioned is a very nice little amp putting out plenty of reliable power

Oh, and for the record I'll add that I don't think the pioneer amp is powerful enough either. You won't get the full potential out of your sub, and will either kill it or the amp if you try to reach its limits

No I knew it says @ 4-ohms, sub can be wired in series or parallel, 1-ohm or 4-ohm. But I agree with the Option Audio amp being a better choice, potential for later upgrade and you won't be pushing the amp hard.

Haha, shit. I just read "looking for a 1ohm amp" and had it in my head.
Yeah, the Ground Zero amp will work as well. I can try and do you a deal on the option audio amp if you like. Just shoot me a PM and I'll see how much I can knock off that price tag. Not likely to get it down to $300 though
