Hi,
Some of you may know, I'm looking at getting the Hertz HV165XL mids for my MR2. I had been told that I could get just the mids in (have to order, upto 4days), so I've found an amp (Focal Solid 4). Went in last night and they said they can't just get the Mids in. I'll have to buy the complete Splits (HSK 165 XL) for $450. I'm doing a active system and don't need the Tweeters or Crossover. They aren't willing to split the the mids up for me now.
They were going to get:
Hertz HV165XL (quoted me $280)
Focal Solid 4 ($550)
Dynamat Bulk ($280)
Install (~$700)
Plus I've already brought a Audison SRx2 amp from them ($325).
And they aren't willing to Split the pack for me. That's over $2000 worth. If they won't do it, I'll tell em to jump and I'll buy something/somewhere else. The difference is like $150 from the Complete Splits to just the Mids and they won't do it.

Yeah, but as the distributor told you on MEA, the woofers aren't sold individually in Australia. Your store lied to you, that's what sales people do![]()
Bloody w***ers. Not very good store if they say once thing and then change their minds. When I spoke to him, he asked me what I wanted, said the mid from the HSK 165 XL, then he asked with or without grille I said without, he gave me the price and told me he can have it in 4days.
Wouldn't you think that - With the amount of other stuff I'm buying from them. you don't think it be worth to split it? Not very good if they say once thing one day and change their minds the next. At MEA forum they go on about buying in Australia cause of Customer Service blah blah blah... well I was going to but if they can't get what I want or won't because they'll be left with a Tweeter & Crossover.. seems pretty rubbish to me. Saying that, the probably paid half the price they charging me anyway.

So because they won't split the packet, its worth missing out on $2155? so they can save the $150
He has the packet in stock. I went there last night.
So happens if one of the components blows? "nah mate you have to pay another $550 for the compete set because you fried the single tweeter"... bit silly if you ask me.

Tell them to take the $150 off the total price or they can jam it. Also if they do then you can sell the crossovers and tweeters.

The reason I'm still going on about these is because I had my system planned out, I've done research asked opinions etc and they said I could do it. I previously wanted the SoundStream TRC6N's again until I found these Hertz. Alberts have already confirmed that they would give me the Mids from the Full set.
Guess I'll just wait and see what they say. I find it fair enough, I've emailed Marty from FHRX studios and he said he couldn't do it but I'd only get the Mids from him (I live in Perth). But with WestSide in Perth with all the other gear I'm getting from them I don't see a problem. Ye they may be stuck with the tweeters and crossover but make $2000 ontop.

Pick different mids that are available.
You were picking from specs anyway, Hertz aren't even known to be loud.
Can somebody tell me why they have to ask the distributor if they can split the set?
Isn't it, if they have it in stock (which they do), they've already paid the distributor for the products, couldn't they do what they want with it?
Why do they have to get permission from the distributor to seperate?
I'm just looking at it in the bigger picture... for the $150 loss (they still have the tweeter & crossover so it's not exacly write-off), for this they get my business... inwhich I will be spending $2155 at their store. (Lets say they got the gear for free for the time being) they would make $2005 ($2155 - $150 = $2005) from me. Now less the price they paid (prob like half the price they charging me, my father owns his own business and doubles the price he paid for it (he imports from overseas and sells here)) say they paid $1077 for the gear/labour.... leaving them with a profit of $1077.
So if they don't want to split the pack.. they are potentially losing $1000+ in profit... Even $500 is pretty good imo... actually I think any profit is good.

Speak to the owner. I would do it, but I'm the owner of my company. If your not talking to the owner they don't necessarily think that way.
