capacitor wire up???
i brought a 1 farad capacitor off a mate and its got - and + so one goes to earth and power lead goes to + then from there to amp. is this right???

If you don't trickle charge the capacitor first you risk blowing up the capacitor or your battery or even do electrical damage to the car, and when I say blow up, I mean it.

Agree with AmmoJammo, but since you already have it you might as well install it. If your using the test-lamp method, then when the lamp goes out completely then its charged.
