Well my Fusion 15" powerplant seems to be dying ....
This was somewhat inevitable as its only a 600rms and im kinda powering it of a 1000RMS Alpine monoblock.
So long story short im chasing 2 12" subs to match upto this amp.
Alpine Electronics of Australia
i would like to keep the budget to below $500
Im considering either
Digital Designs Audio Direct
or
Ryda Car Audio-Kicker CVR124 CompVR Series 12" Subwoofer ($226.75)
Any other suggestions?
I mostly listen to Dance RNB or Top40 Tracks and would like 2 subs for Neatness in the install. Other wise 1x big 12" is an option if there is a awesome option
Any input welcome
Cheers
Some say less talk more action. But I rekon more torque less traction!
look into shopping secure.. some great products there.
personally i would be looking at dual 12's or a big 15.
i think the DD subs are fantastic value for money, you wont be disapointed
Alpine type R in its Alpine enclosure.
I have one and its the bees knees.
12 inch has heaps of punch as doesnt loose lots of frequency range like the 15's do.
Should be able to haggle and get one for about $450
Cheers aazn.
From our range I'd suggest looking at the Vibe Space Shopping Secure - Car Audio Specialists - VIBE Space 12
Massive power, and it will play both loud and clear
$500 isn't much of a budget if you want 2 subs, but you could look WAY down the Vibe product range to the slicks Shopping Secure - Car Audio Specialists - VIBE Slick 12
The 2 of them won't keep up with the single Space, but they will look good trying, and will probably out-perform whatever you have in the front
EDIT: Oh, and don't worry that they are a little over your budget. We like to look after JC members price-wise

I'm with 2Loud2Old for the DD Subs, fantastic value for money.

the DD's really aren't value for money at all.
they're expensive for what you get, $200 or so for an entry level sub that will have similar output and power handling to a $100 pioneer or kicker...
they wouldn't be my first choice for a musical setup, they tend to be too inefficient, meaning you have to tune fairly high to get reasonable output (DD suggest 40Hz!!) then you end up with a peaky response, and less low end response.
I'm saying this, and I've actually owned DD subs, I'm not just saying they're good because everyone else says they are!
someone finally has bad things to say about DD, This is a first, in that case what would you reccommend as a bang for buck alternative?

First on this forum... They're not the be all and end all in subs. Go loud in the upper models, sure. Sound good? Questionable.
Type R subs are boomy as, you can get 2nd hand one very cheap, I bought two type r subs 1241D for 300$.
they aren't bad, but wouldn't be my choice for music.
they can get loud, and will handle a lot of power (the 3500 and bigger series that is) but they just don't sound good doing it... although many would disagree...
as for what I'd suggest... I really don't know, I haven't listened to enough!![]()
