Question VZ Blapunkt CD player to fit VX Berlina ... advice on what to do with the connector

Hi . I have spend quite some time searching these forums for what I want to know but am unable to find what I need , hence starting this thread . I removed my broken Eurovox from my car . And have now got hold of a VZ Senator Blapunkt CD player. fitting it will be no prob . But any idead as to what i need to do about the connection cable ? is there an adaptor of some sort available ( lol that'd be too easy ) Any suggestions / Advice ?

    Many thanks

If fitting a VZ headunit (blaupunkt) into a VX isnt a problem i'll be damned.....you do realise they are different sizes right?

Yes I was aware of the size difference before I got it , made the mods and it sits snug . just the connection is the issue

If u went 2 the wreckers and got a wiring loom cut out from the same model u'll easily b able 2 work off the wiring diagram on the unit itself. U could even then get a VT/VX ISO plug n and use that as ur connection then its all plug n play.

just 2 let u know i managed 2 power up the VY/VZ unit on the bench using the universal ISO plug that plugs straight into the back of the unit with a 12V power supply.

All u gotta do is get 12V+ on the BATT+ and ACC+ and then 12V- ground the unit and it'll work, u'll need theunits code tho 4 it 2 start as at this stage it wont remember anything. 2 get the rest of it working u'll need 2 get 12V on the BATT CONT and the ILL wires and it'll light up and also remeber the settings and code on the unit then.

The rest u just gotta wire up using the VT ISO plug then 2 get it working as per normal. U can even get the steering wheel controls 2 work if u put a 1.2K resistor on the STEERING REM pin and then momentarliy touch the chassis of the unit that will act as if ur pressing the MODE button on the steering wheel controls which is working off the units ground.
