Hey everyone,
Currently i'm running 2x JBL 12" subs in my VS. My question is, musically would you get a better sound/range from running a single 12" and a single 10"? Also this would free up some boot space lol.
12" for the booms/bass,etc and 10" for the kicks, punchier stuff.
Just thought anyway, anyone done this before?

Your midbass speaker make the "kick" more noticeable. Have the 12 in the right box and make sure you have decent front speakers install properly and you'll have decent "kick".
Mixing subs is not recommended.
If you wanted to see any TINY gains from this, I imagine you would have to run the 12" as low as possible (up to maybe 60Hz), then the 10" from say 60-120Hz. Even then I'm not convinced you would get it sounding better instead of worse.
Just buy a good 12" and put it in a well built box and you will have the best of both worlds
EDIT: Dropping the HPF on your front speakers can give a tighter sounding kick as well (80Hz is what I use), but you have to have decent speakers to handle it.

+1 on the HPF on your front speakers mate, there is a massive difference between having it set at 100hz and 80hz just remember to set the LPF of you sub at the same time.

For me 100hz is always too high for my LPF i tend to stick it lower, but again this could just be to my taste or because i like a strong 'punchy' bass not a low long bass.
