Red face Buzzing noise through subwoofer??

Ok i have installed my subwoofer and amp tapping into the stock headunit using LOCS. I have tapped the remote wire into the rear of the cigarette lighter.

Whenever i turn on the car and and the amp turns on i get this loud buzzing noise through the subwoofer. However the buzzing goes away when the headunit is turned on. Not sure whats causing it.

Do you guys know? maybe its because i didn't tap into the Accessory at the back of the headunit, so the amp isnt getting a signal as the headunits not on?

    Any help would be fantastic.

this can happen if wires are running along side each other... ie, power wires next to sound cables..... seperate or insulate them .

What about 12+ power cable next to remote cable?

    Could that cause it?

Basically the noise a loud HUMM noise.

No since they both just carry +12V.

So basically all it could be is the negative or maybe the power cable near the speaker cable to the sub.

Would it matter if the fuse was installed near the amp/sub not next to the battery under the bonnet?

Having the fuse there will not cause the noise but it may cause your car to burn to the ground. I recommend you put the fuse where it's meant to be, at the front, to protect you car from the power wire shorting out down the length of your car.

i have had some big installs in my japs cars and found the humm to be cable orientated ! where is the amp sitting ? are there cables all bunched together ? poor earth ? does it pop at all when you turn it on ?

soem amps and subs can hum if turned up too high also, even if you drop it back to 70% on the dial of the amp, that may help ! play around and see what you find ! usually something simple...

ps, got my v10 alpine amp and 2000 watt competition blaupunkt 18" sub awaiting the new SS ! was custom built for a wrx but the angle of the rear reats looks similar so should be fairly decent fit !
