Spilts without crossovers/tweeter ?

Hey guys,
Just did a google on the crappy speakers that came with my VS project (they were just in the door pods) anyway they are Pioneer model TS-C1625. Turns out that back in 05-06 they were actually a 300 dollar pair of splits haha
only thing is they dont have crossovers or tweeters.
What im wondering is can these be purcharsed relativly cheep? as in cheaper than a new set of splits (the car doesnt need to have a awesome sterio just yet.
Chances are for this car it wont ever get new highend splits so im thinking of just working with what i have.
Any Suggestions?

You can make a pair for about $20 if you are handy with a soldering iron and can dig up some speaker specs

Just a 2 second look but if these come with the crossovers would they be a reasonable enhancement?

Anything would be a reasonable enhancement over standard!
I can do these Shopping Secure - Car Audio Specialists - FLI INTEGRATOR COMP 1 cheap, or can look into getting the tweeters out of these Shopping Secure - Car Audio Specialists - Audio Development AD6 if you wanted something a bit better quality.

My internet is playing up and not loading those pages you linked to, so I can't really comment on them. I doubt the they would come with a crossover though. You can buy basic 2-way crossovers from shops like Altronics and Jaycar now that I think about it. Most tweeters like to play around 3kHz+

yeah i rkn ill just stick with what i have speaker wise and get some crossovers/tweeters to go with them for now, too many other things to pay for at the moment.
How much for a set of crossovers with the fli integrators pm if you want

For those of you playing at home, the crossovers we have available are from Audio Development. The X2E as used in the AD6 splits will suit most 2-way splits. Or the X2V for the fussiest SQ'ers on here

my mate and I compared those Pioneers to a $50 set of Jaycar Venom splits.

I preferred the Venoms, he preferred the Pioneers... but he'd have to considering how much they cost...

I wouldn't bother getting crossovers and tweeters for them.

Haha fair enough man, good to know, i havent had a good listen to them amped up yet. All my spendings just gotten a hell of a lot tighter cause work didnt backpay me half of what htey should have so now imon the hunt for bargain improvements ;P

the alpine tweeters you're looking at on ebay , the crossovers that come with them won't filter the high frequencies from going to the woofer, so the woofer will be running full range.
the woofer will have a natural roll off, so it might be ok still.

but if all you want is cheap treble, with a crossover for the tweeter, then these aren't too bad...
