Anyone got a VT-VX commodore and suffering/suffered an increased rattle of your parcel shelf and surrounding loose componants?
I have had 3 powerful 10" subs smashing the crap out of my boot for near on two years now and i can hear my parcel shelf over most of the bass intensive music i listen too. Anyone acheived any form of rectification for this issue? if so, how?
the middle seat i n my vx u know the lever to pull it foward, rattles vibrates between 1300-2000rpm
soooooooooooooo annoying any one no how to fix it
ahhhh yeas, ive had the same problem, it sounds horrible..
Yours must be fairly flogged if its vibrating as a result of engine movement =\
I just lined the underneath with foam so it was pressed up hard and then the parcel shelf rattled against the window... Jammed something between the window and parcel shelf and it was pretty quit for a few years and then my rear window tail light started rattling... Couldn't work out how to fix that![]()
yeaaah i have been
but can it be fixed
sound proof your parcel shelf with stinger road kill.
It's called sound deadening not sound proofing, as an installer you should know that... And sheet type deadener doesn't stop the cardboard/carpet shelf from rattling against the metal and the glass which is the major rattle in the parcel shelf of a VT/VX.
where do i get this from
Any good car audio shop will sell Stinger products.
If its the same as Dynamat it might be cheaper to go for that.
Yep same problem here, the carpet on the parcel tray was banging against the back windscreen, I was lazy and found the closest things that I could jam in there to shut them up, first thought was my mum stupid dog, but she didn't like that idea, so now I have 4 spare link pin bushes jammed in there.

soooo whats the actual product i should be looking for called
Dynamat Extreme or Stinger Roadkill... But they won't fix rattles. They're deadeners which are meant to add weight to panels to reduce the resonant frequency of those panels.
All you need is to stop rattles... Foam or rubber bits stuck between the two items rattling is the way to fix rattles.
Spoiler would rattle more than anything and they look gay on VTs![]()
