I dug up an old thread on this topic and asked a question but it may not get seen by the right people as it's not in the car audio section, so thought I'd start a new thread here.
After plenty of searching I've come to a dead end. I'm replacing my 6 stacker unit with an Alpine media centre and some of the wiring colours for the stock unit have got me stumped. This is in my VZ SSZ which has factory bluetooth.
I'm running RCAs to the boot for the amp (to power the 4 door speakers). So I've taped up the obsolete stock speaker wiring at the loom and have identified a few of the other wires I require but there's still a few that I have no idea what to do with. Below is outlining the wiring I have on the stock loom so I've bolded the wires I'm stuck on and what to do with.
I have the following:
1.brown/ white
2.brown/ black (with silver dots on it)
3.brown
4.blue/ black
5.blue/ black (with silver dots on it)
6.blue/ orange (with silver dots on it)
7.blue
8.black/ yellow
9.black/ white (with silver dots on it)
10.grey
11.tan
12.light green
13.dark green
14.green/ white
15.yellow
16.yellow/ black
17.yellow/ red
18.yellow/ blue
19.orange/ black x2 (with silver dots)
The wires I have on the rear of the new unit are (excluding speaker wires, ground and battery):
1. Switched power (ignition) lead
2. Audio interupt in lead
3. Illumination lead
4. Power antenna lead
5. Remote turn on lead
Also the stock wiring has antenna up and down (2 wires) and the new unit only has the 1 power antenna. What's the go there?
If someone can shed some light on this for me I'd be very appreciative.
Many thanks in advance.
Brown is your steering wheel control output wire, Blue/Black and Blue is your mobile phone input, black/yellow is your steering wheel input wire, green white is your speed dependant volume control wire, and your orange black x 2 is your 12 volt constant power. The yellow/red wire is your antenna wire. there is not 2 wires for the antenna. The car uses an automatic antenna so when that wire has 12 volts supplied to it the antenna will go up, when 12volts is removed from that wire the antenna goes down.
Thanks for that info Luke, that's a big help mate. Cheers.
