    Default Replacing VE Amp.

    Hi Guys..
I have a VE calais and I have replaced all of the 6" speakers to after markets. Much better.

How I have ordered some 8" JL Audio subs to replace the stock subs too!

How my questions is... how do I replace the stock sub? can I use the cables that goto it and then wire them into the sub?

I got a Kicker ZX300.1 Amp to use.. but my concern is that the back amp is powering the other speakers too.. but im not sure.
    Any one know?

Did have something written up but had to go help a mate.....sorry.

If you're wanting to replace BOTH the stock subwoofers and stock amplifier, then i would suggest running new wiring (esp. power / earth) as the stock amp wiring probably wont support the extra power of the new amp.

AFAIK the amp only powers the subwoofers, while the stereo's internal amp powers the speakers. So if you were to disconnect the amp only the stock subs will be affected.

If you want to replace just the stock subwoofers you'll just need to remove the old ones and install / wire up the new ones.

Okay, if i remove the stock ve amp, use its audio and access cables, and run new power and audio... will it work?

I have been told you f*&% the car if you do that.

I have the subs now too, need to know how to remove the seats to replace the speakers

    Nevermind.

    *Removing Holden VE Back Seats*

The flat part is removed by yanking it up by the two clips, (right and left seats)

    It then just lifts out

you then remove 4x bolts which remote the left and right back seats to access the parcel shelf.

the next part is the more confusing.

I need to figure out which cable to plug the amp into...

Can I plug it into the current cables which going to the current subs? Then run cables to the new subs?

    Cheers.

How did u go? Ill be doing the same roughly VE SV6 commodore. replacing all speakers and subs and amps.

    1) Does the VE SV6 have a seperate amp? or the amp is in the head unit?
    2) How many subs does the VE SV6 have?
