Apologies if this has been asked before...I've just bought a VE Berlina, and I want to upgrade to the colour screen of the Calais or HSV models. Is this possible? Preferably without too much modification - I'm hoping it's a case of removing the old unit and sliding the new unit in.
Anyone know? Cheers!
OK, as no one seems to know...further enquiries reveal that the different level units are coded to each model, and have to relate to the BCM in that particular model. So a VE Calais head unit won't work in a Berlina unfortunately.
Holden themselves will tell you it can't be done, but it is possible...have a look in the VE Commodore forum, some people have put the Calais headunit into SS's and even Omegas.
what i want to know is i removed a faceplate from my ve omega and put the calias faceplate and it didnt work coz the sreen connectors arent there but in the berlina they are. i was wanting to get a berlina u dont remove the whole head unit just the faceplate from a calias and try that. ask a friend who has a calias and see if it works
hope this helps and let know if it works

I'm a boy who appreciates a good body, regardless of the make.
You could order a SSV headunit from JHP
You need a complete system (front panel and silver box behind it.)
The berlina system does not have the colour graphics hardware installed so just adding a calais fascia will not work.
